Last evening we put on an American wedding for all the students.  Our other  married couple on the team "renewed" their marriage vows to each other.  Rollin acted as pastor and we had the Chinese teachers act as bridesmaids, flower girls, groomsmen, parents of the couple, etc.  They were in awe of it all.  They would burst out in applause at every step.  We headed to the foyer of the building for a reception complete with a gorgeous wedding cake and Sprite.  We had taught them some American dances.....Virginia Reel, Electric Slide, Chicken Dance, etc. so we finished the night with those.  It has been so much fun sharing our American culture with them.  We have so much in common as human beings and yet have a great divide when it comes to our cultures.  They have so many questions trying to figure out exactly what is real...the movies they see or the lives of the American teachers they witness here.  I hope they have decided we are more real than the big screen.
