China then and now ...

Training is beginning to wind down.  We've had all our training on the curriculum we'll be using and are preparing to teach a mini-lesson to our team tomorrow so they can critique us and share insights into the material that we're using.   This morning was spent hearing about the cultural differences and how to adapt to them.  A large number of our teachers have never been to China before so that was a necessary lecture.  

While China has changed a great deal in the time since we left 22 years ago, it is still the same China in many respects.  There are still a LOT of people everywhere, babies still wear split pants, bicycles are still prevalent (although there are quite a few cars and scooters), people still stand on the corners selling their wares and the mei guo ren (Americans) are still a topic for hilarity among the locals.  What is still the same for us is that we still love it here.  It is a wonderful place to come and share your life.  We're so glad we're here.
